Aurora First Fridays, Artbar: Toy Show.

Every first friday of the month Aurora gets real artsy.

Tonight we have a few places to be.  First Violet drew a picture with about 15 other kids to participate in First Fridays over at Culture Stock.  We are at the bookstore a lot and I love it there.

Next we have Kevin playing at The Yetee.  Kevin is a good, old friend.  But I watch him play like a fan. I love his music, and knowing him and his family and my BFF/ His wife Jen so well it adds something to the music.  :)

I want a shirt. Fb invite here.

Finally we have the artbar.  We go every month and either me or Jeff is in it always.

Always a TON of great art.  There are more artists every month.

My contribution are these guys,
from Left to right.
Mr. Gutter Punk Monster.
Mr. Bela Lagoofy Monster
Mr. Eric Sholtz Monster.

See you tonight!

***UPDATE***

See those three little stickers?  That means I sold all three!

Here's a few works that especially loved that night.

Jessi is a badass that makes badass clay figurines.

I'm totally amazed by Brittney's needle felting.  She's also a photographer.

I don't know Anne Bruckner but she made this amazing Frankenstein.  I like of love Frank.

Adopt-a-Monster! Adoption complete

One of the first things I put in my library on Ravelry were these cute little amigurimi guys.

Well, that was at least a year and a half ago and I finally made some for Alley Art.

Before I could get them to Alley Art a good friend adopted them to take back to a good home in NY.

They all have names and personalities in my head.  I'll miss them.  :sniff:

Amigurumi Letters

Now that we have confirmed what I knew all along, that we are adding a little boy to the family, I need to get started on all the random things that I want to make for him.  I'm in the middle of a white, green and blue chevron baby blanket (that I seriously miscalculated the amount of yarn needed.)

I also want to make his name in amigurumi letters.

Here is the pattern.

I'll update the blog as they come out.  :D

Amineko!!!

Here are a couple little dudes I made last month.  They were custom made for a friend of a friend that I am now Facebook friends with :)   One to match her Siamese and one cause the blue is cute.

The bows were just something simple I added just cause aw.

Buddies4lyfe.

Comfy cozy in there box.

Technicals:
The Siamese was made with Vanna's Choice Lion Brand yarn in Taupe Mist and Deborah Norville Collection in in black.  Vanna apparently doesn't make any black.  I try not to mix yarns but these fit together perfectly well.  He is a bit smaller than the blue guy because of the yarn.  Its a 4 but seems smaller to me than   a regular worsted weight.  Blue was made with Red Heart Super Saver Aruba Sea and White.  This is the only project I will use Super Saver on because its sturdy.   I used a F hook on them both and each took me about 6-7 hours.
